Fred Bear Historical Hunting Footage

My Lord, this is how hunting films and TV should be (click to watch): from the incredible hunter to the compelling stories to the interesting narration (the original narration in the films) to the look of the old 16mm footage. I understand that a lot of that footage has neer been seen before, but will be--fascinating. People are trying to emulate such production; nobody ever will. comment

David in NC's Gravatar Watching that, I am struck by how hunting videos have come full circle. The industry degenerated over time into simply showing raw footage of kills, but now is trending toward telling the story of the hunt, including conservation, planning, and the entire experience. Seems he started the industry right, and after many decades we are just realizing the quality of what he produced. Even with basic technology, he managed to capture the entire spirit of the hunt, and why we do it. I think the current industry would do well to follow his lead.

Thanks for sharing it with us.

jjas's Gravatar No high tech game cams to tell him where, when to hunt. No 80% let off bows w/expandable broadheads. No scent lok clothing. Yet
somehow he managed to take game and tell compelling stories......and all with nary a fist pump or a giggle or a "gimme a minute".......

The man was a true hunter.

Tee-MD's Gravatar Fred Bear was incredible. I love going on YouTube and watching his hunts. I also just love to listen to his old interviews. So much info. Talk about hunting hard, wow. No outfitters doing all the leg work for him like todays so called great hunters. I watch some of those new hunting shows and it is crazy. They show up and the deer are pretty much put on a silver platter for them. Think some of the "hunter celebs" should watch and learn.

I hope that BassPro sells that footage in a DVD pack. And I hope they don't charge an arm and a leg for it. Never the less I would probably buy it.

Curt's Gravatar Looks like an old Luke! You need to throw some grainy footage & soundtrack into your next Milk River hunt! Good stuff!
