Ontario Bowhunter Kills 3rd Giant Buck From Same Tree!

Ever watched my "Buck of a Lifetime" segment that ran on the Winchester Whitetail Revolution program on Versus for the last few years? Here’s a script I wrote and delivered for one of those skits last year:
Not many hunters make my Buck of a Lifetime Segment once. Shane Good has made it twice!
I profiled the 170-class buck that Shane shot with his bow in his native Ontario in 2006 (top left). Well, on October 27, 2009, he did it again! Shane ran his climber up the SAME TREE where he shot his first dream buck. He spotted movement—another giant (top right) checking a doe! … Shane's arrow was perfect. What a buck…and bigger than the first! …main-frame 10-pointer with 3 kickers; officially scored 176 green and netted 171 and change...
Not one but 2 Bucks of a Lifetime from the SAME TREE—Shane, whatcha gonna do next man? I wouldn’t put 3 monsters past this guy, so stay tuned…
Shane’s most recent email and picture:
Mike, wanted to show you the buck I arrowed on Oct.28, 2010. You said it would be really cool to arrow three 170s from the same tree. Unfortunately I have to settle for 2 170s and a 162!
That afternoon I was a little late getting out to the SAME STAND, and this guy came by at 4 pm trailing a 120” 8 pt as I was getting things set. My bow was still on the ground! After getting it up and nocking an arrow, I grunted but he didn’t come closer. I managed to find a lane and ranged him quartering away at 45 yds. I had practiced all summer out to 60 in preparation for a moose hunt and I was pretty confident so I took the shot. He took off running when the arrow hit with blood pouring out his side. I lost sight of him; I backed out and came back with my buddies a couple hours later, just as it was getting dark. Not much of a blood trail but I knew which way he went and we found him piled up just 75 yds away. Green scored 162 5/8 and nets 157 6/8.-- Shane
This guy can hunt, excellent chance he'll make it 4 P&Y giants from that same tree during Halloween week 2011. And interesting how similar looking and framed up those bucks are.
Two quick lessons: Find a hot tree that produces and stick with it--this is not happenstance, mature bucks are moving by Shane's tree for a reason in late October and he's smart to be there; and two, Halloween is, all in all, probably the best week to bowhunt big deer--they are scraping and prowling, and there's been no gun pressure yet. The haunting week 2011 should be especially good with the dark moon. Might wanna start planning your vacation. comment
Always the best week here to hunt the rut is that last week of Oct. I've killed a lot of deer during that week. This year im going to
take that week and the first week of Nov. to bowhunt hard. Hopefully i can get my first P&Y...been very close. We've taken a few bucks
from that same tress but nothing like these studs!
Why do you keep glorifying all these trophies? Hell, anybody can shoot the big ones! I think you need to start MikeHanbacksBasketRack.com! Yea right! I love hearing stories like this. Obviously having that gene pool running around helps increase Shane's odds. I would sleep in that tree if it were on my land! And notice he is smiling in every picture. It hasn't gotten old to him. Good job, Shane.
