Show Us Your Hunting Tattoo

My friend Mark from Nebraska sent me this the other day:

I remember your blog (old one at Outdoor Life) once had photos of people who had deer tattos. I never sent you my bugling elk tat, but thought you might appreciate this work I had done this past weekend. I wanted to remember/honor/celebrate my first African safari, as well as my first cape buffalo, so I had this design drawn by a local artist and took it to Denver to get the work done.

Wow, I don't know much about body ink, but that looks awesome. Maybe I ought to get me a big old drop tine branded on my upper back :)

If anybody else out there has a hunting/gun/archery tatoo, let's see it. If we get enough submissions I'll pick what I think are the top 3 and then we'll post them and vote on them and give out some cool prizes. Send your images to mikehanback@yahoo.com

No tat's here also, I find them degrading to the human body and kind of trashy, but to each their own.

I saw a guy getting one at the Harrisburg show of the Bone Collector logo. I know a guy who has one across his entire back of a 10 point he shot about 10 years ago. If I can get a pic of it I will post it.

Don't have one. Never will. Everything I can put on my body I can have it put on a t-shirt and when I get tired of it or it get's old and wrinkley like skin and looks like shit, I can throw it away and have another made. But hey that's just me.

Hey Big Daddy, does that rabbit hole look like Willie Nelson? LOL

Can't do the tats, or earrings, or any other crazy stuff. No ponytails, rat tails or otherwise hairy tails either.

Heck, I don't even like to wear a watch. Thanks goodness for cell phones. Lost my wedding ring 3 years after getting married.

Chad and David, I agree. I hate tattoos. Always have. The only ones that I'm somewhat maybe, probably not really, ok with are the ones the guys, and I guess girls now too, get when they are in the military. I think they are incredibly degrading and trshy. But like Chad, to each his (or her) own. THe only piercings I like are a single hole in each here on a FEMALE. I can't stand to see guys wearing them. Somethign about it just don't look right..

Have been away frmo the site for awhile, but seems I came back at the right time. This whole tattoo subject seems to be a bit touchy with everyone. Me personally I have 3, and plan on more. I respect others opinion to say its trashy or degrading to your body, doesn't mean I have to agree with those opinions at all though. Our bodies are our own, and we have a right to express ourselves through them as we please in my opinion. So for someone to say its degrading for me to have a tattoo as a tribute to my deceased grandmother, another a tribute to a close friend and hero of mine, and a third for my military time, and then my next is planned to honor my love and passion for the outdoors and the majestic whitetail that has consumed so much of my life. Just my two cents, but Im just a country boy with personality I guess.

Cooking
Another good skill to pick up. Some of the better meats give bonuses like +12 to spirit for 20 minutes. Stuff like that helps in the long run.
